  1. AMERICAN B-17 MISSION: Munster Bombing
  2.  
  3. This routine once a week mission is to 
  4. bomb the munitions plant at Munster. You 
  5. are a wingman in a group of four 
  6. bombers. Just follow the leader, drop 
  7. when he says to, and follow him on back.
  8.  
  9. Activity in this area has been quiet for 
  10. the past month since the Allied forces 
  11. overran the Luftwaffe station here at 
  12. Deelen.
  13.  
  14. Intelligence expects no need for fighter 
  15. escort on this run. However, they do 
  16. advise all flights to keep on the 
  17. lookout for a resurgence in Luftwaffe 
  18. activity of any kind.
  19.  
  20. CLASSIFIED: On last week's run, one of 
  21. the bomber pilots reported seeing an 
  22. unknown aircraft some miles to the east, 
  23. moving at a tremendous rate of speed, 
  24. but it never came close enough to get a 
  25. good look at. For this reason, your 
  26. flight plan will take you more to the 
  27. east and then southeast on a course to 
  28. the target area. Make careful 
  29. observations of any aircraft or ground 
  30. installations you see.
